Community Empowerment Team Joins Forces with Rebuilding Together Orlando to Help Local Resident

MTI partnered with Rebuilding Together Orlando to work on a home rehabilitation project for the Cannady family who live in the Downtown Orlando area.

Lonnie Cannady, a veteran of the US Navy, has developed complete blindness in one eye and can only see a peepholes worth through his other. He is in need of several accessibility repairs in the home they have occupied for 25 years. These repairs include pouring concrete in the front yard to reduce tripping hazards, installing grab bars and a bathtub seat for the shower, replacement of their interior flooring, and some minor wood rot repairs on the home.

In addition to these needed repairs, Rebuilding Together Orlando has arranged for volunteers to paint the exterior of the home to give the home a fresh new look!
